Molly moved on to the rainbow bridge a few years ago but Diane is happy to announce a new puppy with Mr. Eddie Dixie. Jay is happy to say he has witnessed how Dixie already runs the household and could not have found a better home. Congratulations!
Our Favorite Pet is Diane’s project, and Surprise!, this month she picked her Frodo Man.
Frodo is a Maltese, and he’s always ready to jump in the bag and go. I don’t believe we have ever been kicked out of a store or restaurant, as he is basically a ham and irresistible.
It’s my contention that pets bring out the best in people, and there is no prouder mother than Diane. We do have several client dogs to share, but we’re always looking for more. Please send any favorite pet photos, particularly if they are in your garden or lawn.
Let’s end this by saying that there is a new puppy coming soon to the Holly Maroon household (see Chanel), and that little French bulldog in the photo they sent me has my vote when it shows up.
I would hate for this to be a sad story, so let's exchange that with the feeling of undeserving joy we get from our pets in the short time we are honored to live with them.
Last week, a new client sent a photo of me and her French bulldog, Chanel, which she took (unknowing to me) while I was looking at her lawn. Obviously, Chanel was checking me out, and I will admit it tickled. Diane and I laughed at how perfect this photo is at showing my best side.
Two days later we got the sad text saying Chanel had unexpectedly passed at the age of 12. Understand it's with tears in my eyes that I say our kids pass too soon and the loss cuts to our souls, but each and every moment we spend with them makes that suffering worth it. We know the grief will pass, and those memories, those precious memories, are simply the joy that makes living, living. We are better humans for the time spent with our four-legged betters.
Holly and Michael, you are in our prayers. Thank you for sharing Chanel with us, allowing us to see what really is important.
Many thanks to Jamie and Mark Guttman for allowing me to play with their new puppy, Tucker! They are clients who have become friends, and it has probably been 5 years or more since their last golden, Champ, passed.
I guess I need to apologize because I don’t know children as well as I do my pet friends, but that’s what makes me, me. I doubt Jamie and Mark realize that every time I have squirted their lawn since Champ left us, when I drive up, he’s still laying on their front walk, head up and tail beating the earth. Now we all have a new buddy!
