The Benson Letter - December 2022

The Benson Letter
December 2022

December 2022 newsletter? It's hard to believe that another season has passed and Christmas is only a few days away. As the song goes the weather outside is going to be frightful, or so it's forecasted so let's enjoy the Christmas season. However, has anyone but me looked ahead to next week? Right now, the forecast for Thursday the 29th until Monday the 2nd has the lows in the 40's and the highs in the 50's.

This is important because many of us have not done the work to put our properties to bed for the winter. Please take a minute and read the Wisdom on preparing for winter. Many of us can save ourselves hundreds of dollars of damage come spring with a little due diligence.

Squirting and Spraying

I have been busy spraying lawns all over town the last couple of weeks and notice all the moss out there. Just a reminder to look at that Wisdom one more time as well. This was here all summer just not as vibrant and the grass was higher and greener. Moss is one of Gods gifts, let's enjoy its beauty too this winter.

I winterized my truck this weekend, and will be working with a back pack this week on ground ivy and violets. Next week I will get it wet again and finish up everyone on the docket. Being able to work this time of year pays so many dividends come spring. Now we can build roots without causing extra cutting and the lawns will come out of winter dormancy much earlier.

Treasure Those Blessings

We have so much to be thankful for this year. In this Christmas season, while presents are important, take time to create memories with your families. All of us do have significant blessings to cherish, but sometimes we get so involved with the days chatter we forget that most important part of life. When we stop to reflect, it's not any thing we got at any time, it's how it made us feel and the story that it signifies.

Mr. Wick

I have been busy and at this time of year I don't get the same client's interaction that I do in the rest of the year. I was petless for December until there was a little Christmas miracle. Out of the blue came a text from Mr. Wicks and while I haven't yet used the same pet twice, he made such a strong case that I couldn't help but do it. Mr. Wicks could make any Christmas decorations better but can you believe the way he makes the home entrance for his mom and Dad the best in the neighborhood. In his official good boy poise, Christmas is definitely better. Try Using your thumb to cover him up and while the decorations are beautiful, there is no doubt, he's the best part of the picture.

Mr. Wicks, as most of us guys do, even tolerates his mom to dress him appropriately for the weather. This does, however, tend to upset him. He's much happier with his discovery bandana look. That blaze orange keeps him safe incase he's in the line of sight of one of our hunting friends and Mr. Wicks never knows where his trail may lead. After all his mom is a real walker.

Thank you for all the photos. If Mr. Wicks would not have stepped up, I'm not sure what would have happened? Do you want to give Jay a little Christmas gift? Please keep your eyes on your pets and if there are great pet memories, please be sure share it here.

There's a corner on the website that features the many pets that are a blessing to Jay's clients. Jay's wife, Diane, loved pets so much that she became their dogmother.

Contracts are coming soon but I need to get finished outside first.

Magic and I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, thanks for being our clients!

For most of our pest treatments we can start any time a crisis comes up, no matter the time of year. In this case, though, the snow covering on the ground makes this a not-great time to address ticks. Let’s look forward to spring instead and get serious about addressing the problem as early as we can.
